To
make the whole system complete it had to have a DVD drive and
some major hard drive space to house all
my romz. The only way I could make it all fit in the case
was to Duck-Tape the two drives together. I was going to
add a floppy drive too, but there was no way it was all going
to fit. Thus the new FRANKENDRIVE is born.

Now
how was I going to mount the drives to the top of the case with
out any screws? Velcro of course! Just four little strips from
JoAnn Fabrics for $1.50. Plus no screw holes in the lid of the
case, that would take away from the stock look of the front of
the case. I did have to use my dremel to cut out some more room
in the lid of the case. I made a knotch to hold the thin part
of the DVD drive, and widen the hole where the game was.

And
now for the power. There was no way I could fit a traditional
power supply in the nes case. I used a DC to DC converter to solve
the space issue. It's just a small board inside the case and a
laptop style brick on the outside. To keep the power board in
place I just epoxyed screws to the top of the case.

It
was amazing how well it fit. It was almost like the DC/DC converter
was made to fit in a nintendo. The board like 1/2cm shorter than
the length of the case. The power board fit nicely behind
the screw mounts in the corners that I saved. It was kind of hard
screwing on the bolt to hold the board in place. i have to hold with
one finger than flip the case upside-down.
