Since
I was trying to update the vintage nes to current computing standards,
I decided the controllers would have to be USB. I got a four port
USB hub on ebay for $5. The problem was that with the motherboard
and the switch I couldn't use all four ports. I turned it vertically
and left the original nes port in there.

Sorry
this picture is so blurry. This was the original was I mounted
the switch. I first took the hub out of the little plastic case,
for fore room inside. I then epoxyed the board to the front of
the controller port. I tried to glue a screw behind the hub to
keep it in place. But the first time I pushed in a USB device
it broke free. Time to re-think.

I
went to the hardware store and just started looking around. I
finally found a "L" joint small enough. It fits just
between the end of the motherboard and the USB hubs board. The
flat part on the bottom has one screw that holds it in place,
it come up threw the bottom. the virtical part rests against the
back of actual USB adapter on the hub. And a little epoxy!

Here
is another picture. The cable that is attached to the USB hub
unfortunately had to go outside the case to connect to the USB
port on the back of the motherboard. Notice the old nes controller
adapter. I just cut the wires of to make it fit. Some other nespcs
like DëMöN
and JUNKMACHINE used the
original controller port for keyboards, mice, or gamepads.
